Review KYK Harmony
One of the most outstanding things we found about the KYK Harmony, and all KYK products was the wide range of certificates of recognition held.  In addition to being FDA certified, the KYK Harmony is the number 1 selling water ionizer in Korea, where water ionizers are recognized as true medical devices and regularly used to treat a wide range of illnesses.

The KYK also boasts ISO certification which is a standard of manufacturing business practices to ensure quality in production and manufacturer operations.  ISO compliance does not guarantee compliance or necessarily product quality, but does certify that consistent business practices are employeed in manufacturing products.  These consistencies typically (were designed to) result in uniform standards of production to ensure that most products are of equal quality.  If we take Korean KYK consumer's buying as a measure we can assume that the KYK Harmony is in fact a consistently reliable product that is favored.

As for the device itself, we like the SMPS power system.  This is the best insurance you can have that your KYK Harmony will not overheat.  With an SMPS (or switched mode power supply), power usage switches from one mode to another allowing each to "rest" so that neither has an opportunity to overheat.

The KYK Harmony is the second highest wattage machine on the market (Enagic/Kangen's top of the line product is the highest) which typically speaks to a device's plate size and efficiency in creating ionized water.  However in this case, the Harmony's plate size is not that impressive when compared to Enagic/Kangen and GoldFox products.  Also, the plates in the KYK Harmony are "flat" surface.  "Mesh" plates were adapted to increase surface area and electrolysis function.  In the "Mesh" vs "Flat" plate debate, mesh plates tend to win out for their efficiency in creating ionized water where flat plates seem to have less issues with drainage and cleaning.

What we like about the KYK Harmony is the SMPS power, the wide range of PH settings and the full 60-day money-back guarantee.  Besides the greatly reduced risk of overheating, SMPS devices run more quietly and in some cases with lower power usage.  The KYK Harmony has some of the greatest flexibility in PH settings of any water ionizer on the market, and who doesn't like a full 60 days to decide whether or not to keep the product or receive a refund (less shipping costs and 15% restocking fee).

We also like the cost here.  KYK's Harmony is the one of the more affordable water ionizers at $1,199 with payment plans available.  While nobody can beat GoldFox when it comes to price, if you're looking for a well certified machine favored by pioneers in water ionizer usage for health, the KYK Harmony is priced lower than any other unit produced outside of Taiwan or China.

Another consideration, however, is the filtration system.  The KYK Harmony is a single filter device and we hear a lot about preferences for dual filtration.  The plus side to a single filtration device is maintenance.  Typically the dual filters each have different lifecycles.  This means that the first filter required changing in 6 months (for example) and the second 3 months later.  That's double the maintenance, not to mention double the cost (at least, usually one filter is more expensive than the other - Tyent being the exception with both filters priced the same).  If you are willing to sacrifice extra filtration capabilities to save on maintenance time and cost, a single filter machine is a good option.

When it comes to flow rate, it's hard to beat the GoldFox and Enagic/Kangen products with their 6 to 7 liters per minute - however the KYK Harmony is certainly in line with the standard 3 liters per minute flow rate of the Jupiter and Tyent products, 2 of the biggest sellers in the US.

One last consideration again goes to the filtration system.  Plan to replace your single filter about every 7,000 liters which will be 8 to 12 months depending on your usage.  You can expect to pay $74.95 for that replacement filter (plus shipping) so factor that into your overall budget considerations.
