Is Water Softeners are removing heavy metals?
I’m Currently on a well with a 'high' iron content. Using a water softener, chlorine to remove odor/bacteria, and a charcoal filter to remove the chlorine."
Water softeners are not usually rated to remove heavy metals like lead and copper.
Am I getting too much sodium in my water?
If the liquids you drink each day have less than 100 mg/L of sodium, it probably adds less than 5 percent of the sodium content of the average adult’s diet.
My water has a “metal taste” to it. What should I do?
If your water has a metal taste it is likely that you will need a heavy metal pre-filter and housing. These are units that you connect between your water source and your machine, so the water first goes through the pre-filter, then through the machine. Please look through our Pre Filters page for more information.
I was told that machines with plates dipped in titanium, as opposed to sprayed is superior...any truth to that?
Yes - this is a better method of coating the plates with titanium
I'm confused about plates vs mesh
I'm confused about plates vs mesh. Some people say that mesh is newer and better technology...therefore the plates can be smaller.
Mesh is the newer technology. The mesh texture of the plate inflates the actual plate surface area so yes, a smaller mesh plate will have greater total plate surface area than a flat plate of the same size.
