The basic under counter water ionizer installation process is the same is the same for all brands and models. The connection ports and hoses on each under counter water ionizer will be slightly different for each model but the basic under counter water ionizer installation process is the same:
No special tools are required and you don’t need any plumbing experience. An under counter water ionizer installation can be done in about 30 minutes. You’ll just need a pair of pliers, a couple of towels, some plumbing tape (also called teflon tape) and a good pair of scissors to cut the hoses to length.
Some companies actually provide the plumbing tape – it’s not required but it will help ensure a good seal. If it’s not included in the install kit that comes with your new under counter water ionizer you can find it at any home improvement store. In fact, you may actually find it at your corner drugstore or grocery store.
Before you get started, read through the directions in the manual, take time to identify all of the parts, then clear out the space under your sink to make sure you have plenty of room to work.
Once you’ve got your parts identified and your pliers, towel and scissors handy, dive right in.
The under counter water ionizer installation video below was done while I was installing my father’s Tyent 9000T. Again, while hoses and connection ports may vary in size and location based on the model you choose, the basic installation procedure is the same – you can use this video as a basic guide for installing any under counter water ionizer.
