There are several machines now available in today's market, most manufactured in Japan or Korea. Before you purchase a water ionizer machine, it is very important that you do your research! As has been discussed in this website, the water quality that you and your family consume is even more important than the quality food you eat. Therefore, we encourage you to take the time to perform your own research as we did. The most important thing is that you purchase a water generator that is ideal for your family's needs. When buying a water ionizer, there are several things to consider: Plate Size - This is the single most important factor. The longer that the water is able to keep contact with the surface area of the plate, the greater effect the plate will have on the water. If you want high quality water, you need a water ionizer that has a large plate size. Design - Electrode plates are the most effective. Plate Material - The majority of quality water ionizers contain plates that are made with titanium/platinum materials. These plates are safe; they work efficiently, and they last! Watch out for phrases like "platinized titanium" these are not platinum/titanium plates. It's ideal for the plates to be double-dipped, not just spray coated. ORP Ratings - ORP stands for Oxidation Reduction Potential and measures the machine's ability to create anti-oxidant properties. The lower the negative number, the better pH Ratings - The recommended pH level for drinking water is approximately 9.5. Power - You may not think much of it, but it's a huge deal with it comes to water ionizers. These machines do not respond well to heat. Transformers are a terrific method to prevent ionizers from over-heating. Also, the higher the voltage used during the electrolysis process, the more powerful the water will be. Active Carbon - Active carbon is the age old standard that removes chlorine. Filter Life - This refers to the amount of use that you should be able to expect from a set of filters. Cleaning Filters - Does the water ionizer come with a cleaning filter that can be used before changing filters? Flow Control - This refers to how quickly or slowly the water flows across the plates within your machine. Flow Rate - This refers to how quickly or slowly water comes out of the ionizer. Flow rates typically range from ¾ of a gallon per minute to over a gallon per minute. Warranty - Your water ionizer should have a warranty that is at least three years, five years is even better. Types of Water Produced - You should be sure to get a water ionizer that can produce several kinds of water including strong alkaline and strong acidic water, as these types have many different valuable uses. |
